I stayed at the shack on Saturday night. It got down to about 2 or 3 above zero. I warmed the shack up to about 60 which is a good sleeping temp. I stay on the top bunk in the winter months. I have some shots of the land and one of the 20 acres. I cooked one of the MRE meals that my sister gave me. I show a short video. I also did a little experimenting with my muzzleloader. I cut open a 20 gauge shell and removed the shot (number 4 steel shot). I took 28 gauge wads and filled them with the shot. A 28 gauge wad fits in a .50 gauge muzzleloader with about the same resistance as a sabboted round. I poured 50 grains of loose powder down the barrel and topped it with a 28 gauge wad and 40 grains of shot. I put two "spit" wads on top of the shot so the load would stay in place. The pattern was a little wide for my taste at the distance I was shooting, but that is not surprising with no choke. In a pinch you could hunt squirrels that way at close range with maybe 6 or 7 lead shot. Who would do this and why.....nobody and for no reason.
Amy and I went snow shoeing in Eden Prairie today.
I spent Thursday night at the shack and went hunting on Friday. The last picture is of the shop I built about 10 years ago. I sold it and the 2.36 acres it sat on. My dad and I visited the site on Saturday.
