It was a nice weekend and the forecast looks good for the week. I should be able to do some more clearing at the new 20 acres for the shack by the end of March. Lots of projects to come. I purchased a hand held ham radio and I am scheduled to take my technician class amatuer radio operator test in early March. My radio is pictured below. When the shack is set on the new property I am going to install a 10 meter band antenna. I will have to purchase a HF radio for use at the shack.
It's been a slow month for land activity. I'm about going nuts. I do a lot of planning and I'm getting everything set up for a busy summer of building. Once most of the snow melts it will be non stop work. I try to stay busy with other activities too as the dreaming and planning seem to slow winter down. I bought a gerber multi-tool that I really dig. It has the most useful bit driver of any multi-tool I have tried. It is also minimalist in that it only has the bit driver, blade, and can opener. It has become my every day carry blade. I camped out in the living room with my swag tent this weekend. Late at night I heard my 10 pound Shih tzu sniffing outside the tent. I pretended she was a coyote looking for a meal...yeah I'm getting a little cabin fever here. The last picture is of a U.S. issued laundry bag that I purchased at an army surplus store to hold my sleeping bag and wool blanket.
