July 25th 2021

The top 3 pictures are of one of the three Good Year blimps in the U.S. I caught these pictures as the blimp flew over my condo in Eden Prairie. Notice my blue Nissan under the blimp. The last two pictures are of my tool board project. I have two open tool boards for convenience when I need to make a repair.

July 21st 2021

The passenger side axle shaft out of the Fusion had a torn axle boot. I bought this flex boot and rebuilt my original shaft instead of buying a new one. The flex boot is the best universal replacement axle boot I have ever seen. It fit so well and the material looks like it will stay fexible and stand up to heat and debris. I got the Fusion up and going again for this coming weekend.

July 17th 2021 Round Lake

The fishing was so fun on Saturday evening. This was my first time fishing Round Lake. The lake is close to my 40. I had pretty good action all evening. The fires have made the sunsets really spectacular. The last picture is of a wasp/hornet nest that is in my driveway on the way to the shack. If it wasn't hanging over the road, I would leave it. It is large and hanging in a bad place. I will be bringing my shotgun next weekend.

July 17th 2021 Duluth

Duluth was absolutely beautiful today. These Canadian and West Coast fires are devestating, but the sunsets and skies have been amazing.

July 16th 2021

I stayed overnight at the shack last night and took a quick trip to the 40.

July 12th 2021

My kayak-mobile needed a new outer tie rod. I replaced it and performed an alignment. I need that baby to get me to Duluth this weekend.

July 11th 2021 Red Rock Lake

I fished Red Rock Lake for the first time this evening. It was a very pleasant night.

July 11th 2021 Dakota Rail Trail

I road my bike on the Dakota Rail Regional Bike Trail this morning. It weaves through the bays of Lake Minnetonka. It is a gorgeous path that is so fun to bike. I have a picture that shows my car rigged with a bike rack and kayak rack. I ate at the Minnetonka Drive-in.

July 10th 2021 Red Rock Lake

I spent the evening kayaking Red Rock Lake in Eden Prairie tonight.

July 10th 2021 Stillwater

Amy and I went to Stillwater today. I have a few videos and stills of the St. Croix River. Stillwater is a fun tourist town.

July 9th 2021

I spent last night at the shack. It was another beautiful night. I went fishing at Camp Lake today. The first two videos are of a float plane taking off and flying over my head. It was pretty cool. I equipped my new kayak with a Scotty rod holder today and a reinforcement in the center console last night. I brought my bow today and was pretty happy with my shooting. I shoot bare-bow. I keep it simple because it is more fun for me without all the technology and gadgets. Like my pvc quiver?

July 4th 2021 Minnesota River

I thought I'd try something new today. I've always wanted to put the kayk in the Minnesota River. I did it tonight. 95 degrees and 20 mile/hour winds on the Minnesota River in the twin cities on a sub-ten foot kayak makes for an adventure. The current and wind were moving in the same direction which made downstream/downwind acutally a little tricky. The pictures show two different landing locations. Shakopee is on the right and Carver County is on the left. I landed several times to explore. You should always land going upstream in condtions like that. I'm a pretty strong swimmer and paddler, but it still can get a little hairy. I saw two turkeys and a bald eagle. I watched an otter graze on the banks. Much respect to anything that calls that tough river home. The last picture is of a big mushroom in our yard. I am waiting to find some Smurfs underneath.

July 4th 2021

I'm doing a lot of "4th" things this weekend. I hit a car show (nobody got hurt) and a fishing tournament this morning. The fishing tournament was on Lake Ann in Chanhassen. When I was walking around the lake watching the fishermen, I stumbled upon the mortar tubes for tonight's display.

The dude in the white pants on the next picture is my hero. He just purchased and learned how to ride on this 1941 Harley flat head with a suicide shifter on Minneapolis area roadways. This is his first motorcycle. He's a character with a great story.
