I drove up to the shack on Friday. This weekend was super important because it was the
culmination of a lot of work. On Fiday I further prepped the frame of the shack so that my guy
would be able to pull the 3500 pound 8ft X 16ft mini-cabin onto his roll back truck. I added
four more skid sections so it could be pulled up the platform. Al from Mora arrived on Saturday
morning to make the move. This guy made a somewhat challenging move look easy. He had to back
down long driveways around stumps and obstacles. A couple of times things looked pretty tight.
He was definitely the man to hire. Now the shack sits at the new 20 at the end of my new driveway.
I can't wait to start using it. I have to make the site a little more friendly. It could use
some trimming.
The last two weekends have been largely concerned with prepping the
shack for moving. It is scheduled to be moved next weekend on Saturday. I have a guy coming that
specializes in moving fish houses. I had to restructure the frame for the move. I have to strengthen
it a little more next weekend. We also had to move it maybe 40 ft around 2 corners. It was a very
tough move using mostly chain and a come along. Now the driver will have a straight shot for moving
the shack. The flies and mosquitos were bad, but only if you stopped working. I'll be glad when the
move is done. I have a picture of where it will sit when it is moved to the new 20 (where the subaru is).
The last pictures are of Hippie Chuck's place. He is flying along. I don't really want him to finish because
he'll move to the next project when he is done.
So this happened when I had the kayak on Mitchell lake today....two ducks had enough swimming and decided to jump in my kayak for a lift across the lake. Yes, I was very surprised. They just sat there until I got to the other side.
