A couple of months ago I purposely fell a tree onto a public dirt road that leads to a dead end and doesn't see a lot of traffic. The tree was hanging over the road enough to block the passage of my shack as it was to be moved the following day. I no more cut the tree down and was starting to limb it when sure enough an suv approached and had to stop. I went to appologize to the driver and explain myself. The guy's name was Ryan. He got out of his vehicle and started helping me remove the tree from the road. We talked for at least an hour and became friends. He has a youtube presence as Ryan Outdoors. We've talked a few times since and I asked if he wanted to see my new 20 acres as I just sold the acre and a half that I owned very close to his. He suggested that he could do a tour of the land and feature it on his You Tube channel. It turned out amazing and was a lot of fun to do. I have included a link. Check out his other material as well. He lives in an off grid bus and is in the process of preparing a home for him and his family to be placed on his land. We share a love for the outdoors so I think we will work on some trips or adventures in the future. All of the aerial photos are courtesy of Ryan of Ryan Outdoors.

Matt and I stayed at the shack on Friday night so we could participate in duck opener on Saturday. It was slow. The temps are warm and the water is high. The pictures are of my 3 acre pond and the creek that leads to it. The pond has almost no vegetation sticking through the water. It is higher than I have ever seen it. The ducks have a lot of habitat right now. You can almost kayak for a 1/4 mile entirely on my land going East and West. I enjoyed an MRE that my sister got me on Saturday night. I heated the water on the wood burning stove. It is cold enough to run it at night. I also tried my 1000 watt electric heater with my new generator. It works awesome. I can run all the lights, the dvd/tv player, the heater, and charge my phone on that little Generac. Matt went home on Saturday evening and I stayed the night. On Saturday morning I went grouse hunting and got a little one. I made a feast of a meal on Sunday night back at home.

This weekend was about prepping for duck hunting next weekend. I stayed the night on Saturday. Matt joined me on Sunday and we pulled both kayaks to my 40. There we painted the boats and placed them about where we figure we will be hunting. I am sure we will have plenty of duck boat shots next weekend. I knew that the dnr would be placing signs on the border of my property this year. I have a picture of both sides of the sign marking my north border. The last picture is of a job I had at work. I don't post much work stuff, but it's a big part of what I do so I should post some. This is a typical day for techs at my shop. This shot is of a 2021 vehicle that needed a passenger airbag module replacement and flash update. I also replaced the pass side seat belt and pretensioner. Oh by the way it paid 3.9 hours.

I had the day off on Wednesday. Amy and I went to the state fair. It was awesome as usual. We took in the llama costume contest. The 4 prop bomber won. That contest is alot of fun and the crowd really enjoys it. On labor day weekend, Amy and ruby and I went to the shack for an over nighter. We are using the new generator. We are watching Dumb and Dumber. Do you know the scene? I finished up some things on the old 1 and half acres as I am scheduled to close this Friday. I officially have an address: 2236 Meadowview Road Brainerd, MN.
